Le Pilori is a lifestyle and parenting blog I started to help relieve some of the stress of my daily life, and connect with other parents. Like many moms, one day, it hit me like a ton of bricks that I had lost myself in being a wife and mother. Things outside of family life that were once important to me were put on the back burner. I found that I had become quite resentful, and rather grumpy. I knew I had to do something.

As a person who strongly believes in personal accountability, I had to take control and ownership of not making myself a priority. So I made a concerted effort to focus on things that were important to me, and what a difference it has made! I started working on developing my grant writing business; I finished the process of becoming a foster parent again (I was a foster parent in another county years ago), and I started working on this blog. Being a mom is the best blessing ever, and I would not change it for anything. I am just striving to better balance it all, and not lose myself (again) in the process.

What I Blog About

I don’t profess to be an expert on anything, but I will definitely give my two cents. I love researching and looking for information! My primary goals are to share information I think may help other parents, and share personal stories and perspectives.

My Background and Interests

I spent over eighteen years in the health insurance industry with a focus on government health programs, and currently work full-time for an insurance education non-profit organization. I am currently working to start my grant writing business, and as I stated earlier, I started blogging as a way to relieve stress, and connect with other parents. My goal is to update this blog as much as time allows.

I absolutely love baseball and football, and I am totally obsessed with HGTV! On a more serious note, I strongly believe that we all should try to share whatever resources/skills we have to help children in need. While I will never get too preachy, I think everyone, when possible, should consider ways they can help a child in need.

Thanks for visiting my page, and please continue to come back as I add more content. Oh, I have a bit of a potty mouth, but I will try to keep it in check.
